Donetsk, Jun 7 - DAN. As many as 192,000 people have received Donetsk People’s Republic passports since March 2016, DPR Migration Service director Vladimir Krasnoscheka told the Donetsk News Agency on Thursday.
“As of today, the DPR Interior Ministry’s Migration Service has issued 192,000 DPR passports,” Krasnoscheka said adding that 42,000 passports had been issued since the beginning of 2018.
The Donetsk People’s Republic began to issue passports to its citizens on March 16, 2016. DPR head Alexander Zakharchenko personally handed in the new passports to the first 20 DPR residents. Three months later, Zakharchenko announced nationwide issuance of main identity documents to the population. Last year, the DPR Migration Service offices issued 111,000 passports.*jk
