Donetsk, Feb 5 – DAN. More than 15,000 DPR residents are already on the vaccination list, the DPR Ministry of Health said.

“More than 15,000 people have been put on the list of vaccination with the Sputnik V vaccine,” the report reads.

The inoculation kicked off on February 1 in Donetsk. Ten vaccination sites are currently operating; 38 are expected to be open in the future across the DPR.

Applications for vaccination should be filed with the Health Ministry.

The first batch of Sputnik V vaccine arrived in the DPR on January 30. Next shipments are expected soon.

Russia began to develop a vaccine in summer 2020. It was registered on August 11, becoming the first anti-COVID-19 vaccine in the world. The vaccine, developed by the Gamaleya Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology, was named Sputnik V after the first Soviet space satellite. Vaccine’s efficacy is confirmed at 91.4%. *ot
