Donetsk, Apr 17 - DAN. The Donetsk Republic social organisation has arranged and carried out more than 1,500 discussions of the Republic’s development strategy since early March which involved over 140,000 residents, DR Central Executive Committee chairwoman Natalia Volkova said at a press briefing at the Donetsk News Agency on Tuesday.
“As of April 16, 2018, 1,509 events had been arranged in the framework of the Power of Donbass Strategy; they were attended by 141,858 people,” Volkova said.
Donetsk Republic held 30 public discussions, 803 meetings at enterprises, 369 community gatherings, and 307 receptions of residents at DR branches across the Republic, she added. The most pressing and significant recommendations concerned housing for young specialists in rural areas and loan opportunities in DPR.
Earlier on Tuesday, reports said the Power of Donbass hotlines had taken more than 1,000 calls.
At Donetsk Republic’s March 1 conference, its chairman, DPR Head Alexander Zakharchenko called for drawing a long-term DPR development strategy and its broad public discussion. The project was named the Power of Donbass. DPR development proposals are expected to make the basis of Zakharchenko’s election programme. The Donetsk News Agency website hosts Donetsk Republic’s polls to gather residents’ recommendations on the development strategy. *jk
