Donetsk, Jun 22 — DAN. The all-Russia action “Fiery Pictures of War” marking Day of Remembrance and Sorrow has taken place in the east of the Donetsk People’s Republic, said the press service of the Donetsk Republic social movement.
Overnight to June 22, activists arranged candles into a 14-meter image at the Saur Mogila memorial, which depicts the key military history monument to the Donbass Defenders located in Donetsk, and the inscription “Donbass remembers, ” the press service told the Donetsk News Agency.
Some 70 volunteers participated in the action.
Day of Remembrance and Sorrow in Russia on June 22 marks the beginning of the Great Patriotic War. On that day, German troops invaded the USSR territory attacking hundreds all Soviet settlements along the whole western border.*jk
