Donetsk, Dec 13 - DAN. The Donetsk People’s Republic on Thursday passed 13 convicts to Kiev who will serve their sentences in Ukrainian penitentiaries, the DPR ombudswoman press service said on Thursday.

“Today, 13 DPR inmates who wish to serve their sentences in Ukrainian prisons have been handed over to Kiev,” a press service representative told the Donetsk News Agency.

DPR ombudswoman Darya Morozova was present at the Elenovka checkpoint south of Donetsk to pass the 13 convicts to the Ukrainian representatives. The procedure passed smoothly, she added.

Overall the DPR has passed 189 inmates and their criminal case materials to Ukraine since the beginning of the conflict. The procedure is regulated by the DPR Head’s decree.*jk
