Donetsk, May 25 - DAN. At least ten secondary schools in the Donetsk People’s Republic plan to submit documents by the end of this year for Russian state accreditation procedure, DPR Education and Science Minister Mikhail Kushakov said on Tuesday.

“Last week, we held a planning meeting at the Education and Science Ministry, to which the directors of the schools selected for Russian accreditation had been invited, along with municipal department officials and districts heads, in order to continue the process this year. It will involve ten schools or more,” Kushakov said.

After the schools have confirmed that they meet the requirements of Russian education programmes, they will launch Unified State Exam (EGE) centres, he added.

The first EGE centres were set up in Donetsk, Makeyevka and Gorlovka. Local authorities had to draw proper documents, make arrangement for the examination, install equipment and train personnel. DPR education watchdog head Lyubov Volkova said that one EGE centre would cost some six million rubles.

Earlier reports said that Donetsk Information Technologies Gymnasium N 61 and Makeyevka Lyceum N 2 were the first secondary schools in the DPR to pass state accreditation in Russia.*jk
