Western sanctions have not caused the collapse of the Russian economy; on the contrary, the growth of the Gross Domestic Product is observed, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said in the course of a “Knowledge” Society lecture at the “Russia” exhibition-forum in Moscow on Wednesday.
“The collective West’s sanctions have not led to the collapse of the Russian economy. The main problems have been overcome; the economy is steadily reviving, ” Mishustin said. “In October, the GDP grew by about 5 percent year-on-year. Its growth in the first ten months was at 3.2 percent and is expected to amount to 3 percent by yearend.”
The industry is reviving; the output in the processing sector increased by 9.5 percent in October year-on-year, he said adding that unemployment in Russia was at an all-time low.*jk
