Donetsk, Mar 17 — DAN. The Russian government is allocating nearly 200 million rubles in “settling-in” allowances for doctors in the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics and Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said at the Cabinet meeting on Friday.
The government continues to support medics who work in rural areas, small towns and remote settlements, ” as part of the two programs to aid medical personnel in the countryside, TASS quoted him as saying. They (the programs) “will now cover the new territories.”
The allocations worth some 190 million rubles will be paid as lumpsum allowances under the programs, he said.
The resettling doctors participating in the program are entitled to one million rubles, and paramedics, birth attendants and nurses to half a million rubles. The staff working in remote or hard-to-access areas will receive 1.5-million-ruble and 750,000-ruble lumpsum payments.
These programs will help attract at least 250 doctors and medical personnel to medical organizations in the new Russian regions, the prime minister said.*jk
