Donetsk, Jun 30 – DAN. Russian President Vladimir Putin, speaking during his annual question and answers session on state TV, said that an additional batch of Russian vaccines against COVID-19 will be sent to Donbass Republicsю

"It is an issue that requires careful attention. As far as I know, several thousand. Approximately, 90 thousand shots have been delivered. I heard your question, additional batches will be delivered," he said.

Almost 50 thousand DPR residents have made appointments to get an anti-COVID vaccine jab.

Russia began to develop a vaccine in summer 2020. It was registered on August 11, becoming the first anti-COVID-19 vaccine in the world.

The vaccine, developed by the Gamaleya Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology, was named Sputnik V.

The first batch of Sputnik V vaccine arrived in the DPR on January 30. *ot
