Donetsk, May 25 - DAN. More than 3,000 cultural figures from the DPR and Russia took part in events organised by the Russian Centre as part of Donbass integration with Russia, Russian Centre executive director Yelena Yevseyeva said at a press briefing at the Donetsk News Agency said on Tuesday.

“Over four years of operation, the Centre has helped arrange contests, culture festivals, exhibitions, forums and conferences involving more than 3,000 professionals from the DPR and Russian Federation,” Yevseyeva said. “It is important to restore the lost cultural ties with Russia, and preserve and augment our common cultural and historical heritage.”

An exhibition of drawings by Donbass children at the Abramtsevo State Historical, Artistic and Literary Museum was among the latest benchmark events.  It marked the 200th anniversary of the birthdate of Russian writer Nikolai Nekrasov.

Art Donbass Museum communication department head Yulia Kozurina said at the briefing that the exhibition would run till June 10 and then move to other venues of Moscow and the Moscow region, in accordance with preliminary accords.

The Russian Centre was set up in 2017 to promote integration with Russia in humanitarian, social and cultural areas and developing lasting and stable relationship between the social organisations of the DPR and Russian regions.*jk
