Donetsk, Mar 19 – DAN. The DPR leader Alexander Zakharchenko has congratulated Vladimir Putin on winning of the presidential election in Russia.
The document published on the DPR head website says, "Let me congratulate you on behalf of DPR people and myself on being elected to the high position of the Russian Federation President".
Zakharchenko said DPR residents were closely following the results of the election hoping Russian people would make the right choice.
"We are sure that in the next six years Russia will make a breakthrough towards the future and reach new heights. This breakthrough of Russia sets an example for the development of our Republic," the text reads.
Russia had a presidential election on Sunday, March 18. Vladimir Putin won re-election with more than 76 percent of the vote. *ot
