Donetsk, Sep 26 — DAN. Voter turnout in the four days of the Donetsk People’s Republic referendum on joining Russia has reached 86.89 pc, DPR Central Election Commission Chairman Vladimir Vysotskiy said on Monday.

“Over the four days, the turnout is at 86.89 pc,” he said.

According to Vysotskiy, 1,480,905 people voted in the DPR, and 411,962 cast their votes abroad.

In the first three days, more than 77 pc of citizens cast ballots.

The referendum is taking place through September 27.  Four days have been allocated for voting in public space of residential areas and one day for in-person voting at polling stations. Tomorrow, September 27, only in-person voting at polling stations will be available.

Russian President Vladimir Putin earlier said that Russia would support the decisions of residents of Donbass and the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions on their future, which would be made at the referenda held in all the four regions. *ot
