Donetsk, Sep 18 - DAN. The termination of the friendship treaty with Russia by Ukraine will not impact the situation in Donbass, acting Donetsk People’s Republic Head Denis Pushilin told reporters on Tuesday.

“(Ukrainian President Petr) Poroshenko’s signing the decree on termination of friendly ties with Russia will not worsen the Donbass situation. We can see who our friend or enemy is,” Pushilin said. “Back in 2014, Ukraine showed its attitude to Donbass residents as it began to shell our towns.”

On September 17, Ukrainian President Petr Poroshenko signed a decree enforcing the decision of the Ukrainian National Security and Defence Council to terminate the treaty of friendship, cooperation and partnership between Ukraine and the Russian Federation. Ukraine’s Verkhovnaya Rada (parliament) will vote on the document.*jk
