Donetsk, Mar 31 - DAN. The Donetsk People’s Republic has set up the administration of the Mariupol city, according to Decree No 108 signed by DPR Head Denis Pushilin on Thursday.

“I hereby order to set up a local administration of the Donetsk People’s Republic, the Mariupol city administration,” the document said.

Pushilin ordered senior administration officials to draw and approve provisions on the local government body and city districts administrations, as well as on their structure and staff. All this work shall be coordinated with the DPR Head administration.

The decree was published on March 31. It is effective starting today.

Mariupol is the largest city on the Sea of Azov coast, a key centre of metallurgy of Donbass and a large sea port. Clashes for Mariupol began on February 25; the city was fully blocked in the course of the fighting. At present, the mopping up operation against the Nazi is nearing completion in Mariupol.  Various sources reported that the DPR currently controls more than 90 percent of the city territory. *jk
