Donetsk, May 21 - DAN. The Contact Group for the Donbass settlement has postponed its meeting to June 5 as Ukraine is unable to attend the talks scheduled for May 22, the Donetsk People’s Republic Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday.
“The Ukrainian delegation evaded its obligations as it refused to come for the Minsk talks citing a lack of authority. This suspended the operation of the only venue for direct talks between the parties to the conflict and prompted the Contact Group and its working groups to postpone the talks to June 5, 2019,” the Foreign Ministry said.
To resume “full-fledged negotiations, the new Ukrainian leadership has to make moves to settle the situation by diplomatic means and appoint its authorised representatives in the Contact Group and its working groups tasking them with launching productive dialogue with the Republics,” it said.*jk
