Donetsk, Oct 4 — DAN. The Donetsk People’s Republic parliament plans to complete as soon as possible the legislative procedures for electing senators from the DPR to the Russian Federation Council, DPR parliament speaker Vladimir Bidyovka told the Donetsk News Agency on Tuesday.

“Two senators from the Donetsk People’s Republic representing the legislative and executive branches of power will have seats in the Federation Council. This is a requirement of federal law, ” Bidyovka said.  “We’re working through the representatives election procedure and mechanism to vest in them the powers of Russian Federation senator.”

The DPR parliament will try to complete as soon as possible all the legislative procedures related to the election of senators. “We’re taking a responsible approach to the election of representatives because they will face a very challenging task to represent the Donetsk People’s Republic as a subject before the whole Russian Federation, ” the speaker said adding that the representative from the legislative branch would be elected from among the DPR lawmakers.

RF senators are representatives from each region in the Federation Council upper house of the Russian parliament. Each region delegates two representatives to the FC.*jk
