Donetsk, Jul 8 – DAN. Ukraine violated the agreements concerning crossing the contact line previously achieved at the Minsk talks by allowing through the checkpoint a number of people who were not on the clearance lists, the press officer of the State Security Ministry Michael Popov said.

"Ukraine violated the agreement on the rules of entering the DPR, that is in accordance with clearance lists harmonized in advance. They allowed 49 people to cross the crossing point towards the DPR and dozens of people including children were stuck in the grey zone in the heat. It could have ended in tragedy."

Popov has dismissed the decision as a provocation. Donetsk had to accept the people and put them under a medical observation.

The mechanism of crossing the contact line was agreed to by the sides at the talks on June 23.

To enter the DPR, travelers must be granted clearance from the HQ; for exit they must have a registration in Ukraine.

Travelers entering the Republic are subject to a 14-day quarantine.

Yelenovka crossing point will be open 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. on July 7, the schedule for the following days will be announced later.

The DPR suspended the operation of crossing points on the contact line in March to prevent the import of the coronavirus infection. The Yelenovka crossing point reopened for exiting the DPR on June 22 and for entering the DPR on June 25. Its operation was suspended again on June 28.*ot
