Donetsk, Jun 28 – DAN. Security situation along the contact line is deteriorating, the DPR People's Militia has recently been forces to open retaliatory fire on Ukrainian positions. The DPR Head Denis Pushilin said on Sunday that Kiev is dragging the conflict into a hot phase.
"The Ukrainian side keeps dragging the conflict into a hot phase with determination. Yesterday alone, they fired more than 50 mortar rounds on the Donetsk and Mariupol axes. The DPR People's Militia had to open retaliatory fire to protect civilians and prevent further shelling," he said.
The decision was made as Ukraine completely ignored JCCC requests to reinstall the ceasefire.
"We proved the DPR ability to defend itself on multiple occasions. Thousands of Ukrainian military losses testify to it. The DPR is entitled to use all the options to protect its civilians within the Measures to reinforce the ceasefire," Pushilin said.
Ukrainian forces violated the ceasefire once in the past 24 hours injuring a civilian woman. *ot
