Donetsk, Sep 25 - DAN. Donetsk People’s Republic acting Head Denis Pushilin has been elected chairman of the Donetsk Republic social movement. The decision on the appointment was made at the extraordinary Congress of the movement’s activists in Donetsk earlier on Tuesday.
The Congress held at the Brovun Donetsk State Academic and Music Theatre brought together 700 participants, including members of the Central Executive Committee and local branches and grassroots from across the Republic.
Pushilin’s candidacy was brought forward by Central Executive Committee chairwoman Natalia Volkova. Her proposal was supported unanimously.
The social movement had to elect its new chairman as the previous leader, DPR Head Alexander Zakharchenko had been killed in a terrorist attack.*jk
