Donetsk, Sep 20 — DAN. The Donetsk People’s Republic will used mixed voting at the referendum over joining the Russian Federation, DPR Head Denis Pushilin told reporters on Tuesday.

“It will be mixed voting given the safety we have to ensure for all participating citizens, ” Pushilin said. “The main time set for the referendum is for the vote outside voting stations in order not to gather crowds, and one day is allocated to those who would like to vote at a voting station.”

“Security measures will be provided, ” the DRP leader said.

At the extraordinary session earlier on Tuesday, the DPR parliament passed the law on the referendum in the Republic setting the dates for voting from September 23 to September 27.

On Monday, the Public Chambers of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republic brought forward the initiative to hold referenda over the Republics’ joining the Russian Federation. On the same day, Pushilin offered Pasechnik to join efforts in preparing for the plebiscite and cooperate in security issues.*jk
