Donetsk, Jan 20 – DAN. DPR lawmakers, ministers and officials supported the proposal of the Transport Ministry to join the Agreement on Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR), the final decision shall be made by DPR Head Alexander Zakharchenko.

The initiative was discussed today at the meeting of parliamentary committee on transport and communications.

"There is a necessity to legalize the relationship that de-facto exist in DPR," said acting deputy minister of transport Rostislav Markelov.

"All the participants supported the initiative to join the ADR. Our committee will prepare the address to DPR Head on unilateral joining to international treaties," said the deputy chairman of the committee Sergey Sverchkov.

The Agreement on Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road is a 1957 United Nations treaty that governs transnational transport of hazardous materials and covers three thousand hazardous items. The agreement is applied to the EU countries, Kazakhstan, Azerbajdzhan, Morocco and Russia.*ot
