Donetsk, Jul 17 – DAN. The DPR representatives have suggested a new format of prisoner swap at the today’s talks in Minsk, said DPR Ombudswoman Daria Morozova.
“We have insisted on the following procedure: the sides get time for legal clearance of the detainees. Roughly, a month is required on our side, the Ukrainian side requested six weeks. When the clearance is completed, the documents confirming the cessation of criminal prosecution against POWs are to be filed with the working group, to Mr. Frisch (its coordinator from the OSCE), who in his turn announces it at the meeting of the Contact Group,” she said.
After the sides confirm the fulfillment of their obligations the group defines the exchange date.
Morozova said that currently there are 101 prisoners confirmed to be held captive in Ukraine and 50 confirmed to be in the DPR.
The initiative on the renewed procedure has been sent to Frisch. *ot
