Donetsk, Aug 19 – DAN. Ukraine's authorized representative at the Contact Group Leonid Kravchuk has expressed readiness to unlock the discussion on POW exchange, the DPR Foreign Ministry said.

"New head of the Ukrainian delegation (Leonid Kravchuk) personally confirmed, within the framework of the humanitarian issues discussion, Ukraine's readiness to work on four categories, which will allow us to work out exchange lists in the shortest possible time. We expect an official letter announced by Mr. Kravchuk to continue the work."

DPR Foreign Ministry said that the Republic welcomes such activity and are willing to unlock the discussion.

"It is important to remember Ukraine's obligation to carry out legal clearings to finalize previous exchanges, and amend legal provisions contradicting to the Minsk Agreements to continue the work on their basis," the statement reads.

Another meeting of the Contact Group took place today.

Leonid Kravchuk, Ukraine's first president, was appointed new head of the Ukrainian delegation on July 30, substituting for another ex-president Leonid Kuchma whose resignation was announced on July 28. *ot
