Donetsk, Sep 20 — DAN. The Donetsk People’s Republic parliament on Tuesday has passed the law on the referendum over joining the Russian Federation as a constituent RF region.
DPR Head Denis Pushilin attended the extraordinary session of the Republic’s parliament.
“It’s great honor for me to announce that yesterday I decided to organize the preparation for the referendum. I grieve for the civilians killed by the war. Regardless of the burden of the losses, I’m confident that the path we chose in 2014 is right, ” Pushilin said addressing the lawmakers.
The head of state then asked the lawmakers to consider the draft law on the referendum on joining the Russian Federation as a constituent RF region. He explained that the document set the procedure for the plebiscite, voting stations and types of vote.
“Donbass is returning home. I believe that the draft law is timely and I ask the deputies to support it. The referendum dates are from September 23 to September 27, ” the LPR leader said.
The DPR parliament unanimously approved the 1st and 2nd readings of the document.
