Donetsk, Nov 19 - DAN. The provisional People’s Council commission on procedure and work management registered “Donetsk Republic” and “Free Donbass” as parliament factions, the commission’s chairwoman Olga Makeyeva said.
“The provisional People’s Council commission on procedure and work management received documents for the registration of two parliament factions,” Makeyeva said. “The package of documents meets the provisions and norms of the procedure.”
DPR residents elected the new Head of the Republic and the parliament on November 11. The 100-seat DPR parliament (People’s Council), the only permanent top legislative body in the Republic, is elected for five years.
The election procedure is spelled out by the election law. A DPR resident who has turned 21 years of age is eligible to run for parliament.*jk
