Donetsk, Feb 9 - DAN. The commission on harmonising the legislation of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics to establish common customs space is holding a meeting in the DPR capital, the Republic’s Head Alexander Zakharchenko told reporters on Friday.
“Harmonisation of laws is essential for common customs space, that’s why we set up a commission,” Zakharchenko said. “It is meeting in Donetsk.”
The Commission will work our recommendations for law approximation and present them to Zakharchenko and acting LPR Head Leonid Pasechnik. Further measures will include cancellation of custom quotas and duties.
Zakharchenko said that the common customs space project would give an impetus to regional economic development.
On 31 January, DPR Head Alexander Zakharchenko and acting LPR Head Leonid Pasechnik signed a protocol of intent to promote closer economic cooperation and establish one customs space. The DPR and LPR state-owned railway companies signed a cooperation agreement. *jk
