Donetsk, Nov 16 - DAN. DPR Head Alexander Zakharchenko has supported Russian President Vladimir Putin’s position on prisoner exchange.
“I supported the Russian President’s initiative for the simple reason that it does not contradict our principles and the Republic’s earlier prisoner exchange policy,” Zakharchenko said after talks with the Russian leader.
“A civil war is won by those who are guided by moral principles and remain humane,” he said.
The DPR Head’s press service said that the prisoner exchange issue was the topic of the telephone conversation between Putin and Zakharchenko on 15 November.
On Wednesday evening, Russian President’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Vladimir Putin, in the telephone conversations with the DPR and LPR leaders, discussed a large-scale prisoner exchange initiative brought forward by Viktor Medvedchuk, leader of the Ukrainian Choice - People’s Right movement. *jk
