Donetsk, Jan 18 – DAN. The Republic of Crimea and the DPR have signed an inter-parliamentary cooperation agreement in Simferopol on Friday.

The document is signed by the Chairman of the State Council of Crimea Vladimir Konstantinov and the Chairman of the DPR People's Council Vladimir Bidyevka. The sides exchanged souvenirs after the signing ceremony.

The same agreement was signed between Crimea and the LPR represented by the LPR Parliament Speaker Denis Miroshnichenko.

Earlier a solemn rally took place in Simferopol to celebrate the 365th anniversary of the Pereyaslav Council.

The Pereyaslav Council was convened in 1654 for a ceremonial pledge of allegiance by Cossacks to the Tsar of Muscovy in the town of Pereyaslav (now Pereiaslav-Khmelnytskyi in central Ukraine). Cossack Hetman Bohdan Khmelnytsky secured the military protection of the Tsardom of Russia in exchange for allegiance to the Tsar while leading a major anti-Polish uprising in the Zaporizhye lands. Supported by popular masses and by the Crimean Kahnate he won a number of victories over the government forces of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.*ot
