Donetsk, Apr 28 - DAN. Ukrainian armed formations have shelled two markets in western Donetsk’s Kirovsky district on Thursday killing and wounding civilians, the Donetsk People’s Republic Territorial Defense Headquarters reported.

“The “Mercury” market in the Kirovsky district came under fire,” the report said. Two civilians were killed and another five were wounded on Petrovskogo Street,” the report said.

On top of that, the strike set fire to containers at the “Sokol” market in the same district. The DPR Emergencies Ministry said the fire had been extinguished. Both markets have been in use.

Donetsk mayor Alexey Kulemzin said that “the fire at the Kirovsky district markets had killed three people and wounded another five.”

The tram service suspended routes 8 and 16 on the stretch between Gelendzhikskaya Street and Kobzar Avenue in the Kirovsky and Petrovsky districts due to the danger of military operations. Trams run along the truncated line via the Rutchenkova station.

The Joint Centre for Control and Coordination reported that Ukrainian gunmen repeatedly fired “Grad” multiple rocket launches at the Kirovsky district beginning from 11:45.  The JCCC is updating the information on the aftermath of the strikes.*jk
