Donetsk, Dec 30 — DAN. Deputy head of the investigation control office of Russia’s Investigative Committee (SK) Yevgeny Rybakov has been killed in Donetsk in shelling by Kiev forces, the SK press service reported on Friday.

“Since the beginning of the special military operation, our officers have been investigating war crimes against civilians and Russian servicemen committed by the Kiev regime. They are working amid hostilities which cause inevitable losses, ” the press service said. “True professionals, the best SK officers serve in Donbass. Yevgeny Rybakov was one of them.”

 The tragedy occurred on Friday as Donetsk came under Ukrainian artillery fire. Criminal proceedings were opened over the death of the SK officer.  The people complicit in the crime will be prosecuted, the SK said.

Yevgeny Rybakov was deputy head of the investigation control office of the SK Military Investigation Department. He was repeatedly awarded decorations and distinctions for successful work. Earlier he performed his duties in the course of the anti-terrorist operation in the North Caucasus region. A war and military service veteran, he is survived by his wife and two young children.*jk
