Donetsk, Apr 5 – DAN. Russian Investigative Committee has launched a criminal investigation into Ukrainian shelling of the Alexandrovskoye outside Enakievo, which killed a child, the committee’s press service said.

A child was killed in Alexandrovskoye outside Enakievo on April 2 as a result of a Ukrainian attack involving a drone dropping an explosive device on the township. The child's 66-year-old grandmother has been injured.

The investigation is opened under Art.356 p.1 Russian Criminal Code (Cruel  treatment  of  prisoners  of  war  or  civilians,  deportation  of  civilian  populations,  plunder  of  national  property  in  occupied  territories,  and  use  in  a  military  conflict  of  means  and  methods of warfare, banned by an international treaty of the Russian Federation; shall be punishable by deprivation of liberty for a term of up to 20 years).

The recent escalation in Donbass has already claimed a child's life, Dmitry Peskov, the Press Secretary for the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, said. *ot
