Donetsk, Apr 19 – DAN. DPR Military Counter-Intelligence has detained a Gorlovka resident on suspicion of espionage in favor of Ukraine, the Ministry of State Security said.
"The Ministry of State Security detained a Gorlovka resident on suspicion of a crime punishable under Art.320 DPR Criminal Code."
The suspect was identified as Makarets Ruslan Anatolievich, born in 1984.
In February 2017 – May 2018 he served in an engineer company of the DPR People's Militia as drive. The suspect left the army in August 2018 and was recruited by the SBU under the Come Back Home Programme.
He then passed over to Ukraine personal data on People's Militia personnel, locations of his former unit HQ.
Makarets came back to the DPR in March 2019 on the SBU task.
The DPR Supreme Court sentenced him to 13 years of imprisonment in a high security facility. *ot
