Donetsk, Apr 28 - DAN. A resident of the Donetsk People’s Republic has been sentenced to 13 years for spying for the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), the DPR Prosecutor General’s Office press service said on Tuesday.

“The investigator found out that the SBU had recruited V.K.Utkin during his visit to Ukraine-held territory. The criminal case was opened under Article 32, Part 3, Article 320, and Article 321 of the DPR Criminal Code, ” the PGO press service said.

Utkin visually observed and took videos of DPR militia units to report their numbers and locations to an SBU agent.

“On March 17, 2020, the Supreme Court Appeals Chamber sentenced the defendant to 13 years in a maximum security prison,” the PGO said.

The sentence has come into force.

The criminal case was investigated by the DPR State Security Ministry.*jk
