Donetsk, May 3 - DAN. School No 2 in the Yelenovka settlement was damaged in Kiev gunmen’s strike on Tuesday morning, local administration head Svetlana Nikitchenko told the Donetsk News Agency.

“The settlement came under fire at 6:50. School No 2 took a direct hit, and the blast wave damaged some 70 windows overall,” Nikitchenko said.   “Nobody was hurt; there was nobody in the school at the time except the watchman.”

“The strike also damaged some 100 meters of roof. They shell us every day, she said adding that repairs are not being considered at present as Ukrainian forces have stepped up strikes at Yelenovka.

The school is located at 4 Lenin Street.

Yelenovka is situated some ten kilometers south of the DPR capital. It has a population of 5,000. A frequent target of Kiev gunmen, Yelenovka repeatedly reported casualties and damage to the housing stock and civil infrastructure.*jk
