Donetsk, Aug 10 - DAN. The Donetsk People’s Republic State Security Ministry has warned that Ukrainian secret services collect personal data of DPR residents using false Internet accounts.
“The DPR State Security Ministry has been recording Ukrainian secret services’ attempts to collect intelligence data using the Internet,” the MGB press service said. They create fake accounts of electronic mail systems and social media whose address partially resembles the address of authentic active pages or profiles.”
Ukrainian secret services plan to use this method to collect personal data of employees of companies of all forms of ownership, officials, Russian citizens who permanently live in the DPR and other people who might interest them in terms of intelligence information, the Ministry said.
The obtained information is used for special operations in DPR territory, recruitment of government bodies personnel and putting psychological pressure on their relatives living in DPR areas temporarily controlled by Ukraine, the MGB said.
The gathered data are passed to international organization to put pressure on DPR and Russian citizens by entering their names on sanction lists.
In this connection, the DPR State Security Ministry urged resident to be vigilant and make sure that the account addresses are genuine.*jk
