Donetsk, Mar 24 – DAN. Russian Investigative Committee has launched a criminal investigation into Ukrainian shelling of the Alexandrovka township west of Donetsk, which killed a civilian, the committee's press service said.

Kiev forces shelled Alexandrovka on March 22 with small arms targeting residential areas and killing a civilian man.

"Russian Investigative Committee is identifying officials responsible for using banned warfare against Donbass civilians and keeps recording the proofs of their crimes," the press statement reads.

The investigation is opened under Art.356 p.1 Russian Criminal Code (Cruel  treatment  of  prisoners  of  war  or  civilians,  deportation  of  civilian  populations,  plunder  of  national  property  in  occupied  territories,  and  use  in  a  military  conflict  of  means  and  methods of warfare, banned by an international treaty of the Russian Federation; shall be punishable by deprivation of liberty for a term of up to 20 years).

The 71-year-old victim was outside of his house in Alexandrovka, when Ukrainian sniper killed him.

According the DPR People's Militia the fire originated from the positions of the Ukrainian 28th separate mechanized brigade under command of Maxim Marchenko. DPR Ombudswoman Daria Morozova stated that Kiev forces deliberately use banned methods of warfare. *ot
