Donetsk, Feb 11 - DAN. The Donetsk People’s Republic State Security Ministry posted a video showing a DPR resident, who was caught spying for Ukraine admitting his crime.
From 2014 to 2018, Pavel Podvezko, a native of Kharkov, took assignments from Ukrainian blogger “Necromancer” who cooperated with the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).
Podvezko said that he had tweeted to “Necromacer” sensitive information on the location of DPR military units, movements of hardware and military patrol structure. Podvezko's social media page fostered ethnic hate between DPR residents and called for overthrowing the Republic’s government.
“I used to repair computers; on one of them I found sensitive data belonging to a DPR serviceman and passed it to “Necromancer.” I worked as a computer technician until I was arrested by MGB officers on May 26, 2018,” he said.
Earlier reports said that the DPR Supreme Court Appeals Chamber found Podvezko guilty of the crimes covered by DPR Criminal Code Articles 321, 325, 236 and 328. He was sentenced to 14 years in a maximum security prison. The sentence has come into force.
The DPR MGB urged the Republic’s residents to immediately report the facts of recruitment by foreign secret services.*jk
