Donetsk, Jun 16 – DAN. DPR Prosecutor General's Office is to open investigation into Roman Protasevich and his possible involvement into crimes against Donbass population, the DPR Head Denis Pushilin said.
"Our Prosecutor General's Office is looking into certain information. He (Protasevich) was in "Azov" in the area of Shirokino, Mariupol direction. (We are checking) what were the crimes, is there proof. After that the decision in opening a criminal investigation will be taken," he said.
Earlier the LPR asked Belarus to extradite Protasevich detained in Minsk on suspicion of involvement into Azov's radical organization. Later, Belorussian leader Alexander Lukashenko said that LPR representatives can visit Protasevich in Minsk.
Roman Protasevich, Belarus national, is one of the founders of the NEXTA telegram-channel recognized as extremist in his country. He was detained after Ryanair flight made an emergency landing in Minsk following a bomb threat warning.
DPR Supreme Court has put Azov military formation and Azov Civilian Corp on the extremist organisations list. *ot
