Donetsk, Sep 12 - DAN. The Donetsk Electrical Engineering Plant state-owned enterprise has signed a contract to supply buses to Lugansk People’s Republic education centres, the Donetsk People’s Republic Industry and Trade Ministry press service said on Wednesday.

“Today, a contract was signed to supply “Donbass” buses to LPR education institutions,” the report said.

The enterprise plans to export eight buses to the LPR overall. Their assembly is due to begin shortly.

The Donetsk Electrical Engineering Plant was founded in 1945. It specialises in the production, deliveries, repairs and maintenance of machinery and equipment for mining and construction companies. In 2014-2015, the plant’s main shops and the transformer substation were damaged in shelling by Ukrainian forces but later they were restored.

The enterprise currently runs semi knocked down assembly of “Donbass” busses for local and intercity transportation. The “Donbass” buses are assembled on the Russian PAZ-3204 platform with 21 seats and overall capacity of 40. The DPR rolled out the first domestically-produced bus in the summer of 2017.*jk
