Donetsk, Nov 21 - DAN. Donetsk People’s Republic authorities plan to pay 130 million rubles as part of Kiev’s wage debt to Voda Donbassa utility company personnel later this month, DPR Construction and Housing and Public Utilities Minister Sergey Naumets said at a press briefing in Donetsk on Thursday.
“The DPR government found a source of funding to pay a seven-month wage debt,” Naumets said. “The first 130 million rubles will be paid later this month, and another 200-odd million rubles by yearend.”
Earlier reports said that the DPR planned to pay Kiev’s 300-odd million-rouble wage debt to the Voda Donbassa company by the end of 2019.
The financial situation of the Ukrainian company Voda Donbassa is critical. Wages have not been paid to company workers at Kiev’s order since 2018. The Contact Group subgroup for economic issues in Minsk has been trying to resolve the problem.*jk
