Donetsk, Jan 19 — DAN. The Donetsk People’s Republic plans to create a free economic zone in the near future, the press service of the DPR Economic Development Ministry told the Donetsk News Agency.
“To attract new economic entities, plans are in place in the DPR to establish a free economic zone in the near future whose residents will enjoy incentives, ” the Ministry said.
DPR business support measures are currently focused on restoring the activities of operating companies and attracting new ones. The DPR also plans to set up an Investment Council to help business people. The Donbass Development Corporation established last year plans to support investment projects and implement them according to the “one-stop-shop” principle.
Earlier, the Economic Development Ministry told DAN that it was setting up an business development foundation and a lending company. DPR present-day state support measures for businesses include subsidies for farmers, grants and loans from the Industry Development Fund and reduced tax rates.*jk
