Donetsk, May 13 - DAN. The Donetsk People’s Republic will allocate one billion rubles from the budget for coal industry development in 2021-2022, the government press service reported on Tuesday.

The DPR government has approved a resolution on the measures to restructure the mining sector. The document provides for state support, reliable operation and steady development of state-owned coal-mining companies.

“In 2021-2022, state support envisions the allocation of one billion Russian rubles from the DPR budget to implement the approved measures,” the government press service said.

The money will be used for stabilising coal industry operation, cost optimisation, modernisation and retooling. The measures are expected to cut the industrial machinery accident rate, enhance labour safety and facilitate the fulfilment of development programmes.

The implementation of the measures will meet the demand for coal by thermal plants, steel mills, coking industry companies and benefit recipients.*jk
