Donetsk, Mar 6 - DAN. Warm weather in DPR region allowed farmers to start preparing fields for sowing, said the Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food.
"Thanks to mild weather DPR has started preparation of fields, fertilization is under way in all the districts," says the report.
Winter crops have been fertilized on 16,959 ha, 10,701 ha of them sowed with winter wheat, with Novoazovskiy district leading in the hectarage.
The Ministry said it was generally satisfied with the winter crops conditions.
"The preliminary reports show farms need 26.9 thousand tons of mineral fertilizers, 9.5 thousand tons, or 35 pc, are immediately available."
Earlier the Ministry reported 100 thousand ha winter crop area. *ot
