Donetsk, Nov 10 – DAN. The number of food producers in the Donetsk People’s Republics has increased by 17 percent to 224, compared with pre-war period, DPR acting Minister of Industry and Trade Alexei Granovsky told a news briefing at Donetsk News Agency on Thursday.
“The Republic’s food industry with a full range of branches has been developing steadily with 224 businesses operating at the moment. Before the war, i.e. before 2014, we had 191 food companies,” Granovsky said.
According to the Ministry, sales grew as the number of producers increased. As of 1 October 2016, food industry sales amounted to RUB 4 bln, a 2.5 times year-on-year increase.
In February 2016, the DPR Economic Development Ministry reported 113 food industry companies active in the Republic.
