Donetsk, Feb 1 - DAN. The Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics authorities have decided to merge the railway companies of the two countries, DPR leader Denis Pushilin said in an interview to the Donetsk News Agency.
“The governments of the Republics (the DPR and the LPR - eds Donetsk News Agency) have made several decisions to strengthen cooperation in various fields,” Pushilin said. “For example, they decided to merge the railway operators of the two countries into a unified company.”
The LPR and the DPR are simultaneously working towards removing the customs checkpoints between the Republics. “It’s a gradual phased process envisioning agreements and harmonisation of laws,” he said.
The two Republics also adopt regulations to create similar business environments. "The DPR and the LPR should have equal business opportunities as of the time of cancellation of customs barriers," the DPR leader said.
The Lugansk Media Centre reported that in December 2018, LPR Council of Ministers chairman Sergey Kozlov said that the Donbass Republics were setting up a unified railway operation centre.*jk
