Donetsk, Nov 1 — DAN. The early grain and grain legumes harvest in the Donetsk People’s Republic has exceeded last year’s by 80 percent, DPR government chairman Vitaly Khotsenko said on Tuesday.
“Thanks to agribusinesses including those in liberated areas, the yield of early grain and grain legumes in 2022 has increased by 80 percent compared with 2021, ” Khotsenko said.
The crops were harvested on an area of 237,500 hectares, he said adding that farmers had thrashed 689,600 tons of grain.
“The Republic is provided with wheat and barley which have an export potential. DPR companies also meet the domestic demand for flour, bread and bakery products, ” the official said.
There are 34 bakeries in the region which have produced 40,947 tons of products since the beginning of the year.*jk
