Donetsk, Jun 1 – DAN. DPR has allocated almost 92 mln rubles for salaries of the Voda Donbassa water company employees since the beginning of the year, the Ministry of Construction and Public Utilities said.
"This year budget includes funds designated for salaries of the Voda Donbassa water company employees. In January-May 2020, 91.8 million rubles were paid from the budget," the report reads.
The DPR compensates Ukrainian debt to the company to support Republic's residents who work there. The salary pool is formed by utility charges and state incentives.
The Ministry said the subsidies stabilize the situation.
Currently the company is the major supplier of drinking water in the region. It supplies water to 289 townships and cities across the DPR and Ukrainian-controlled Donbass. Ukraine stopped paying salaries to its employees in 2018.
In December 2019, DPR announced it had repaid more than 300 mln rubles of Ukrainian debt. Earlier the Republic settled Ukrainian debt worth 130 mln rubles. *ot
