Average salary of DPR steelworker approaches 19,500 roubles

Donetsk, Jan 24 – DAN. An average salary in the steel sector grew by almost 11 pc in 2021, the DPR Ministry of Industry and Trade said.

"The number of employees of steel enterprises is 18,196, their average salary is 19,424 roubles (USD 246 per month), that is a 10.8 pc growth y-o-y," the report reads.

The smelting industry employs 5.5 pc of all the workforce.
"It has a multiplying effect on adjacent sectors: a steelworker creates 4-7 jobs in other sectors," the Minsitry said.

DPR smelters production amounted to 41 bln roubles in 10 months of 2021, the Ministry of Industry and Trade said earlier.

The total of 54 steel enterprises are operating in the DPR. *ot
