Donetsk, Nov 15 – DAN. Kiev has sent an Interior Ministry's Sokol Special Team to Krasnogorovka town west of Donetsk to identify DPR supporters among local population, DPR Operations Command deputy commander Eduard Basurin told a news briefing at Donetsk News Agency on Tuesday.
“Up to 50 officers of the Sokol Special Team from Kharkov were spotted arriving in Krasnogorovka for counterintelligence measures against the local residents suspected of aiding and supporting DPR’s policy,” Basurin said.
The measure is aimed to suppress anti-government sentiment along locals in Ukraine-controlled territory, he added.
Earlier, the Republic’s Operations Command repeatedly reported routine “mopping up” operations in occupied towns and villages carried out by Ukrainian secret services.
Women, elderly people and minors are frequently detained in such raids. It is not the first crackdown on DPR sympathizers in Krasnogorovka.
