Donetsk, Sep 18 - DAN. Ukrainian armed formations violated the Additional Measures to Strengthen the Ceasefire in Donbass 127 times since they came into forces on July 27, the Donetsk People’s Republic People’s Militia deputy commander Eduard Basurin said on Friday.

“We’ve recorded 127 violations by Ukrainian armed formations since the additional ceasefire control measures came into force,” Basurin said.

“Ukrainian forces violated the ban on engineer works to develop positions at the contact line 71 times, opened unaimed fire 22 times and used unmanned aerial vehicles 24 times,” he said.

Over the past week, Ukrainian forces violated the Additional Measures six times. Four such cases were engineer works to develop positions of 35th Marines Brigade 503rd Battalion in the Shumy settlement area outside Gorlovka, and 53rd Separate Mechanised Brigade in the Starognatovka village area on the southern stretch of the contact line. On top of that, 79th Separate Air Assault Brigade servicemen opened unaimed fire in the Maryinka and Novomikhailovka settlement areas outside Donetsk.

The package of tighter ceasefire control measures came into force in Donbass on July 27, 2020. The document bans the use of any weapons, deployment of hardware, special operations, engineer works and flights of unmanned aerial vehicles, and envisions punishment of violators. Meanwhile, Donetsk said that it had broached the issue of revision of the additional ceasefire control measures following Kiev’s rejection of the coordination mechanism for observing them.*jk
